President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is preparing a working tour of Mexico City. The agenda, which could include a tour of the rugged Metro Line 12, will be defined in conjunction with the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, as declared by both leaders this Wednesday at their respective press conferences.
The work tour of President López Obrador would take place after the defeat suffered by the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) in six mayors of Mexico City before the PAN, PRI and PRD alliance, after which the capital president reinforced the narrative of the so-called Fourth Transformation in all its public acts.
Asked about the possible visit of the president to the Golden Line, the head of government replied: “more than a tour of Line 12 it is a tour of the president around the City, we are agreeing to see what places he wants to visit so that he Let us accompany, there are several works in the city that are advancing in a very important way, but also actions of the federal government itself. We are very happy ”.
The last time that the president had a working tour of the capital – that was not a formal act of the Presidency – was on September 13 of last year, when he accompanied Sheinbaum Pardo to the inauguration of the first stage of Cuitláhuac Park, in Iztapalapa, and a supervision tour of the extension of Line 12, in Álvaro Obregón.
Later, in December 2020, López Obrador would have another work tour through different mayors of Mexico City, but it was canceled due to the fact that the second wave of Covid-19 infections was in full swing, which has been the most lethal until now in the capital.
Among the outstanding works of the government of Mexico City that could be visited by President López Obrador are the two Cablebús lines, the first cable car for public transport in the capital. One is located in the Gustavo A. Madero mayor’s office and another in Iztapalapa, and will be inaugurated on July 11 and 24, respectively.
